it’s so funny to me that garth is basically the only human character we get foreshadowing for. i think the first time he’s mentioned is weekend at bobby’s when bobby talks to him over the phone? every other human character gets dropped in here out of nowhere, but no, garth has lore
In complete seriousness, they need to make laws about ads that say they can take no more than one, maybe two, clicks/taps to close/skip. No more "wait 10 seconds until you can skip the video, wait 10 seconds until you can skip the fake playable ad, wait 5 seconds until you can close the 'download now' overlay, puts up a half-screen in-app appstore pop-up (which at least you can close immediately)." This should literally be illegal to do.
Edit: this is blowing up so I just wanted to add (haha ad) that this was my "reasonable request" I also think there should be way more and way stricter laws around all advertising in general. I think most advertising as we know it today should be abolished.
HEAVY George Costanza vibes in this post
My relationship with the idea of Bad Media Representation, particularly for bisexual male characters, is always a bit fraught because, like:
On the one hand, I’m keenly aware of how these tropes have been and continue to be used to demonise bisexual men in the popular consciousness, and I can absolutely tell when a particular piece of media’s writer is using them because they have a shitty attitude about bi dudes.
On the other hand, I can literally go down a list of Bad Representation Tropes for bisexual men and be like “oh, I relate to that one”, “that one’s totally me”, “that one’s not me, but it’s kind of hot”, “I literally did that in high school”, etc.
So.
I don’t even have the excuse of only relating to the “cool” stereotypes, either. I see yet another a bisexual male character who’s a sleazy sex demon from hell with an enormous catalogue of bewilderingly specific fetishes, mannerisms that pinball wildly between obnoxiously hyper-masculine and affectedly feminine, and an unshakable conviction that yes, he can top and bottom at the same time, and there’s a voice in my head that goes “ah, not this shit again”, but another, quieter voice is like “goals”.
im such a raphael apologist btw. if my brothers were THEE actual devil, a guy who was a cop thousands of years before cops even existed, and some bitch who was so allergic to responsibility that he faked his death every couple of months i too would be so fucking done with everything. pour one out for the longest suffering archangel
